- Da Vinci Resolve 18 - free video editing software that provides professional functionality for assembly of video clips and color editing
- Audacity - open source audio editing application that allows multi-track audio editing with additional functions for noise reduction, mixing, and audio effects.
- Highland 2 (for Mac), Trelby (Mac & PC), and YouMeScript (Google Drive, requires Gmail) - free screenwriting software that provides built-in formatting and can export into PDF and Final Draft. Some features cost but essential features do not.
- Blender - open source 3D animator. Watch this tutorial or other tutorials.
- Studiobinder - freemium project manager for film projects. Create a project by uploading a script, tag elements, and manage shooting schedule and crew communication. Free for one project, requires payment for additional projects. Includes additional tutorials.
- Freesound.org - download free sounds and sound effects to use in final sound mix
- YouTube Audio Library - part of YouTube Studio that comes with every YouTube account (accessible with Gmail account), a public domain and free library of music and sounds. Click the link and move the far left scroll bar down to "Audio Library."
- Shot Designer - app (that works better on mobile devices) for camera diagrams and designing shots
